The Carousel

The Transmission

Four worlds. One choice. Choose life. ⚡

Devarim 30: "I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil… choose life." Read simply, that's two pairs: do good, live; do evil, die.

The Chassidic reading in phEEnix's study notes hears FOUR levels of reality:

  • GOOD: the transcendent Divine light, beyond creation
  • LIFE: the immanent life-force animating everything
  • DEATH: the physical world, which has no life of its own
  • EVIL: cravings that pull against the plan

So "choose life" means: see the Divine life-force INSIDE the physical, and live from it. Your body, your kitchen, your Tuesday. That's where the Geulah shows up when you tune in.

The Alter Rebbe calls the Divine soul חֵלֶק אֱלוֹקַּ מִמַּעַל מַמָּשׁ, "a part of G-d above, truly" (Tanya ch. 2). Tradition gives the soul five names, from Yechidah (oneness) down to Nefesh (the life in your body). The carousel turns that into a 3-minute Four-Worlds Check-In: crown, mind, heart, hands.
